How does Joseph Noble define a “green” or “sustainable” product?

Our benchmark for an earth friendly product is easy.  If it can fully decompose when put into loose, moist soil for five years, we consider it “green”.  That said, technology advances daily, and the more we learn about how to develop appropriate product that honors the earth, the more we will share this information with you.

Why do you list your wholesale prices on your web site?

Our industry continues to change and evolve.  Our research shows that most designers work on a fee basis, with a predetermined mark -up established in advance with their client.  Access to immediate pricing saves the designer time and effort, and allows for transparency, benefitting both designer and client.

Are the prices shown on your web site wholesale or retail?

Wholesale, also known as net.

Samples / Product


How do I request samples?

Easy. Go to www.josephnoble.com and choose a product category from the main menu, then make a product selection. On each product detail page you can add colorways to your sample cart. Click 'Checkout' when you are ready to submit your request. Note that whenever you request samples, we add your email address to our active data base. This means that you will receive an email confirmation of your sample request and will be updated directly on any and all new information from Joseph Noble. To ensure email delivery, please add josephnoble@josephnoble.com to your contact or safe-sender list. You may unsubscribe at any time.

When will my sample request be processed?

Normally sample requests are processed and shipped within 24 hours.  Larger requests may take additional time.  Please provide your shipping number for rushed sampling orders.

Do you provide finishing services?

In most cases we do not, but we can suggest companies that do offer appropriate finishes.

What are the cleaning instructions for your products?

Does Joseph Noble have textiles suitable for healthcare application?

Our textiles and Technology Leathers™ are often used in healthcare applications, in accordance with variable and individual project requirements. Many products are anti-microbic, anti-bacterial, and often pass commonly required tests for healthcare application. Specification information is available on the website. Contact us if additional information is required.

What is a Technology Leather™?

Great question.  Created in 2001, Joseph Noble Technology Leathers™ are a defined category of manufactured products that look, feel, and perform like (or in many cases, better than) real leather. Each one is distinctively engineered and designed for maximum visual impact as well as meeting the high quality performance standards required in our industry.

Can I pay for my order online?

Not yet, but soon.

Can I purchase from Joseph Noble if I am not in the trade?

Unfortunately, not at this time. Please contact an interior designer directly to place your order.

What are your payment terms?

Our terms are proforma. We accept all major credit cards, checks, ACH and wire payments.

Why am I able to reserve certain products and not others?

The Joseph Noble line of products are developed all over the world. Different mills and manufacturers have different (and sometimes, numerous) criteria for their distribution. Our alliances vary from supplier to supplier and in select cases, we are sometimes unable to advance-reserve items. Even though certain products are non-reservable, when available we provide the current stock/inventory on your sales order.

Where can I find information about testing, performance and maintenance?

Please reference specification sheet.

Why is there a cut fee for purchasing less than 3 yards?

Well, we wish there wasn’t, however, there is a minimum cost associated with processing an order. It is important to note that the cut fee is waived for orders less than three yards when it is an addition to a previous order.

What is your method for shipping?

Standard shipping is Federal Express Ground, however we can provide alternative shipping upon request.

What are the criteria for receiving a CFA (cutting for approval)?

CFA’s are provided for all RESERVABLE products.  Please see our price list.
